The scan is already well discussed
All I want to add is the password:

I had some time and cycles to spare
and wanted to try john the ripper

it took about a week on a PIII 800 OpenBSD
machine. (with the default rules and password list)

I expected something more ... imaginative
(guess they dont know/care about the 8 character limit)
